New York, NY—Rapper 50 Cent was sued on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 for alleged copyright infringement of his 2007 hit song, “I Get Money.” The plaintiff, an Atlanta rapper, filed the lawsuit in a Brooklyn federal court, as reported by the Associated Press.

The Atlanta rapper, Tyrone Simmons, also known as “Caliber,” claims he bought the exclusive rights to the instrumental track, “I Get Money.” Simmons asserts that 50 Center and other parties infringed on his rights by using the track.

The lawsuit named 50 Cent, the producers of “I Get Money,” and music industry companies. The suit is seeking unspecified damages.
