South Dakota Wind Application Center Team Presents Awards, Conducts Workshops

On November 9, Steve Wegman from the South Dakota Wind Energy Association and Brian Rounds and Dusty Johnson from the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission joined South Dakota Wind Application Center members Mike Twedt, Matt Hein, and Matt Bult to present two awards at Sanborn Central, a pilot school in the South Dakota Wind for Schools project and the first school in the state to erect a turbine two years ago. Linda Whitney and Sanborn Central received the Best 2009 Wind for Schools Program Participant Award, and Tracy Moody received the Best 2009 Wind for Schools Teacher Participant Award. The Wind Application Center team also conducted small wind energy workshops for 36 students during their visit.
