Wendy's, the Healthier Junk Food?
The chain took a major step in that direction today by announcing that its French fries will be cooked with a new recipe, one that uses more natural ingredients. Wendy's plans to back up this effort with a $25 million advertising campaign aimed at young customers.
Ken Caldwell, chief marketing officer at Wendy's, said the new fries will be naturally cut from Russet Burbank potatoes and will come in thinner, crisper potato slices with sea salt.
Wendy's Twitter account page will feature art for the fries and a "Fry for All" app that lets users select a box of fries that they can post on their Facebook page so they can "share" fries with their friends.
