New poetry book sheds light on author's emotional plights
SUITLAND, Md. (MMD Newswire) September 20, 2010 -- Emotions Volume II: Better Days by Romeo Barnes intends to offer an inside look at the author's spiraling series of emotions - from depression and feelings of loss to romance and love. "I just want people to hear my story," says Barnes.
Emotions Volume II, the second book in the Emotions series, further explores Barnes' struggle for identity in a confusing darkness created by the deaths of his cousin and best friend with his emergence into new conflicts with sexuality and love. He also suffers from cerebral palsy. "Finding yourself is something everyone has to do," says Barnes.
Barnes describes this second volume as much darker and straight-forward, filled with "vicious honesty," he says. "I feel that honesty comes across on the page. The pictures painted are very profound. I try to use my words to create the most vivid pictures possible."
