Restoration Of Flood, Death, Trauma, Outbreak And Contamination Scenes - UK Conference Announced
Conference on death and trauma scene cleaning, with flooding and outbreak control solutions presented
PRESS DISPENSARY - Monday, Aug 23, 2010 - Bio Recovery and Decontamination International - 'BRADI' - is a new UK training and industry forum providing contractors and their customers with the first national conference in previously uncontrolled specialist cleaning, restoration and decontamination works aimed at improving national resilience and safety for contractors, homeowners and end users such as insurers, emergency services and local authorities. The conference is to be held at Walsall Football Stadium on November 2, 2010.
Principle consultant Jeff Charlton said: "It may be a surprise to the public that, hitherto, anyone could take a two-day unregulated or unapproved course in flood damage or death scene decontamination, then enter your home and rip it apart - with no recognised controls, standards or protocols or even completion clearance."
BRADI has developed the missing training and standards required to produce uniform contractor results which provide the client with safety, value for money and auditable results in the otherwise 'smoke and mirror' unregulated restoration and decontamination industry.
Flooding, drying, death and trauma scene and decontamination from terrorist CBRN attack and meth labs are typical BRADI and conference topics, reflecting the accredited training available and current national response shortfalls.
BRADI provides what is seen as revolutionary training, delivered nationally through regional training centres followed by written examination.
Jeff Charlton, who is the course director, said: "Typically the historic approach to flood and drying procedures saw the people of Hull needlessly living in caravans for 12 months and was the turning point in the insurance industry recognition that current training and protocols were simply wrong, and this was quantified by evidential comparison which proved that side-by-side homes could be restored 40% cheaper and 70% faster by a different approach."
The specialist training in outbreak control and CBRN terrorist or environmental disaster was typically developed in the wake of the obvious national shortfalls in response and resilience.
All BRADI training can be accompanied by audit of internationally recognised BSEN management systems which ensure stated protocols are adhered to, providing the client with confirmed contractor competence and value for money.
There is already much interest from European contractors and exhibitors, who have already booked places.
A limited number of free press places will be available on November 2 in Walsall. Please see course training available and conference details on www.bradi.org or call Jeff Charlton 07990 500 999.
Notes for editors
BRADI has been developed from internationally recognised training protocols which have been updated to address the specific problems faced in the UK, as seen in floods of Hull and Gloucester and the rise in lonly death and unreported decomposition.
