International Business: Dot Hill Inks OEM Deal With Transtec
May 26, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Dot Hill Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: HILL), a provider of storage solutions and software for OEMs, open storage partners and system integrators, said it has inked an OEM agreement with transtec AG, a Germany-based IT solutions provider specializing in virtualization, high performance computing and IT infrastructures.
According to Dot Hill, transtec's key areas of expertise lie in the evaluation, development and implementation of customized products and concepts. transtec's IT solutions are designed using the "engineered-to-order" principle and customized to individual requirements.
The company operates subsidiaries in Belgium, France, the UK, Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.
Under the terms of the agreement, transtec will use Dot Hill storage solutions to enhance its customized infrastructure offerings with more flexibility and robustness for small-and-medium-sized enterprises.
The two companies said they want to take advantage of the European midrange market demand for affordable, turnkey data protection solutions that meet increasingly stringent demands in terms of reliability, performance and scalability.
At the center of the agreement is the new Dot Hill 3000 Series, a range of entry level storage solutions meant to enable OEMs such as transtec to provide small-to-medium businesses and data center managers with access to cost-effective and energy-efficient storage options that may previously have been beyond the scope of their budgets.
Colorado-based Dot Hill has offices and/or representatives in China, Germany, Israel, Japan, United Kingdom and the United States.
