May 5, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Stornoway Diamond Corp. (TSX: SWY) has appointed Patrick Godin to the newly created position of chief operating officer. He is a professional mining engineer with more than 20 years of experience in various aspects of mine development, construction and operation.

As Stornoway’s COO, Godin will be responsible for the day-to-day operational requirements of the firm’s Renard Diamond Project as it moves through feasibility, mine construction and into production. The Renard Diamond Project, located in north-central Québec, is a 50:50 joint venture with Soquiem, Inc.

Prior to joining Stornoway, Godin held the position of VP for project development at G Mining Services of Montreal, with responsibility for the development of the Essakane Project in Burkina Faso under contract to Iamgold Corp.

Between 2007 and 2008 Godin oversaw the development of the Nunavik Nickel Project as VP of operations for Canadian Royalties Inc.
