(NYSE: DCO) said that its Ducommun AeroStructures, Inc. subsidiary has won a contract to supply Middle River Aircraft Systems, a unit of GE Aviation (NYSE: GE), with 747-8 thrust reverser aft cowl skins, pressure door frames and cowl straps for the plane’s engines. According to Ducommun, the initial period of performance runs through 2013, with a long term structured contract to follow. Work on the 747-8 thrust reverser program will be performed by the DAS Parsons, Kansas facility.

Ducommun AeroStructures manufactures complex structural components and assemblies in aluminum, specialty alloys such as titanium, metal bond and composites for a wide variety of military and commercial aerospace applications.

California-based Ducommun provides engineering and manufacturing services to the aerospace and defense industry.
