April 24, 2010 (FinancialWire) — An initial determination in a case before the U.S. International Trade Commission holds no patent violations occurred, according to spokespersons for two of the companies involved, O2Micro International (NASDAQ: OIIM) and Microsemi (NASDAQ: MSCC).

Also involved in the case, which was brought by O2Micro, are Monolithic Power Systems and ASUSTek.

Administrative Law Judge James Gildea's opinion held that Microsemi's products involved do not infringe any of the claims at issue. He also ruled that no domestic industry existed that used the 02 Micro patent at issue in the investigation.

On December 15, 2008, O2Micro filed a complaint with the ITC requesting an investigation pertaining to certain products by Monolithic Power Systems, Microsemi and ASUSTek and seeking an exclusion order barring the importation, sale for importation, or sale after importation of those products.
