April 19, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Gastar Exploration Ltd. (AMEX: GST) said that Floyd R. Price has been recommended by the nomination committee of Gastar's board of directors to stand for election to the board at the company’s annual meeting, which will be held on June 3.  

Price recently retired from Apache Corp. (NYSE: APA), where he most recently served as EVP and exploration officer. He also held previous positions in Apache as EVP for Eurasia, Latin America and new ventures, and other senior roles.

Price is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and serves on the board of trustees for the American Geological Institute Foundation. Houston-based Gastar Exploration is an exploration and production company focused on finding and developing natural gas assets in North America.

The company owns and operates exploration and development acreage in the deep Bossier gas play of East Texas and Marcellus Shale play in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Gastar's CBM activities are conducted within the Powder River Basin of Wyoming.
