Minnesota personal injury attorneys alert- A apartment fire in Burnsville, MN left two firefighters injured.

Minneapolis, MN—Two firefighters were injured in the line of duty while trying to extinguish a large apartment complex fire in Burnsville. Fire officials responded to the fire at 6:47 a.m., at the Observatory Apartments located at 1511 Greenhaven Drive, after receiving an emergency 911 call, as reported by the Star Tribune.

Although it hasn’t been determined what ignited the Tuesday, March 16, 2010 morning blaze, the blazing inferno was visible from a vertical row of three balconies, when firefighters arrived at the scene. The American Red Cross reported that 55 apartment units were evacuated, in which 49 of those were temporarily inhabitable following the fire. As the brave firefighters were battling the fire, a ceiling collapsed on top of a Savage firefighter and a firefighter from Lakeville, which slightly injured them both. The injured firefighters were treated at the scene for “minor” injuries by medical professionals. It is unknown if any of the apartment complex residents were injured during the fire. The Burnsville Fire Marshal is currently looking into the cause of the blaze. The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army are assisting the displace residents, and a nearby Liv Inn Suites offered a room to all of the displaced families.
