Boeing Loses $1.7 Billion in Orders
March 16, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ Air Berlin has reduced an order for Boeing 787 Dreamliners from 25 to 15; those 10 cancellations account for $1.7 billion worth of aircraft.
The second-largest airline in Germany also cut its options for additional 787s from 10 to five. Air Berlin placed the orders with Boeing in 2007 when it was in the process of buying charter airlines Condor and Thomas Cook, but the company backed out of that takeover as the economic climate worsened.
