Tronox Raises Titanium Oxide Prices In Key Markets
February 26, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Tronox Inc. (OTC: TRXAQ) is moving to increase prices for all of its titanium dioxide grades in the Europe/Middle East/Africa of 100 Euros per ton or $150 per ton in U.S. Dollar markets and by $150 per ton in Asia Pacific.
The company said that other increases may be announced locally within each region. The increase re effective April 1, or as contracts allow, according to Tronox.
Oklahoma-based Tronox is a producer and marketer of titanium dioxide pigment, an inorganic white pigment used in paint, coatings, plastics, paper and other everyday products.
The company’s pigment plants, which are located in the United States, Australia and the Netherlands, products to around 1,100 customers in 100 countries.
In addition, Tronox produces electrolytic products, including sodium chlorate, electrolytic manganese dioxide, boron trichloride, elemental boron and lithium manganese oxide.
