Mesothelioma Cancer News provides news and information for Los Angeles asbestos attorneys. Los Angeles (MesotheliomaCancerNews.com) – A jury has sided with a tobacco company in a multi-million dollar asbestos lawsuit. As reported by The Recorder, Lorillard Tobacco Company has won a case in which a smoker sued the company for damages related to purported asbestos inhalation from their products. As noted in the report, the plaintiff in the case, Robert Cox, was diagnosed with mesothelioma over a year ago. Lorillard manufactured cigarettes in the 1950s that were made with asbestos filters. The jury found the company not liable for damages related to Cox’s condition citing the company’s product was not defective and there was no duty to provide a warning to the smoker about the product’s dangers at the time. Gary Paul, an attorney for the plaintiff, is quoted in the report as stating of the verdict, “We're very hopeful that this is going to be reversed on appeal and we'll have another attempt at these tobacco companies.” News Source: http://www.mesotheliomacancernews.com - Press Release Distribution
