January 11, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Gouverneur Bancorp, Inc. (OTCBB: GOVB) said that vice president and chief financial officer Robert J. Twyman has retired effective January 8, 2010.

Twyman, who formally announced his retirement at the company’s board of directors meeting in December 2008, will continue to serve the company in an advisory capacity.

He joined Gouverneur Bancorp as chief financial officer in 1999 and was named a vice president in 2001. Prior to joining the company, he was vice president and Comptroller with the First National Bank of Northern New York.

Kimberly Adams, Gouverneur’s Accounting Manager, will assume the primary responsibilities vacated by Twyman, including that of chairperson of the Bank’s Asset Liability Committee.

Prior to joining Gouverneur Savings & Loan, Adams worked as Senior Accountant and later as Compliance officer of Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, New York.
