General Dynamics Wins $2.2 Billion Armored Vehicle Contract
November 25, 2009 (FinancialWire) — The U.S. Army has awarded a $2.2 billion contract to General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada for 724 Light Armored Vehicles for a Foreign Military Sale. Vehicle deliveries will begin in April 2011. General Dynamics Land Systems, the Canadian company’s parent corporation, is a business unit of U.S. defense contractor General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
The contract was signed through the Canadian Commercial Corp., a Crown Agency of the Canadian government.
Falls Church, Virginia-based General Dynamics employs approximately 92,300 people worldwide.
