He will succeed Kevork S. Hovnanian, the founder of the company, who served as chairman up until his death in September 2009.

Ara K. Hovnanian has been with the company for more than 30 years and has served as its president since 1988 and its CEO since July 1997. He has served as a director on the company’s board since 1981.
