Science Applications Receives $49 Million Air Force Order

September 29, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI) said it has been awarded a delivery order by the U.S. Air Force to provide technical analysis and risk assessments in support of an independent readiness review team.

The delivery order has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total value of more than $49 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in El Segundo, California, according to SAIC.

According to SAIC, the unit that will receive its services under the order is a technical center for researching, developing and purchasing military space systems. The center is responsible for on-orbit, check-out testing, sustainment and maintenance of military satellite constellations and other Department of Defense space systems.
