General Dynamics Wins $100 Million Army Machine Gun Contract

August 27, 2009 (FinancialWire) — The U.S. Army has awarded General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) a four-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for the production of M2 flex machine guns. Production under initial delivery orders valued at around $100 million is scheduled to be completed by April 2012.

The guns will be produced at General Dynamics’ Saco, Maine, facility, which has delivered more than 35,000 M2 machine guns to the U.S. government since 1979.

Falls Church, Virginia-based General Dynamics offers business aviation systems, land and expeditionary combat systems, armaments and munitions, shipbuilding and marine systems and information systems and technologies.
