TIE Technologies Acquires Mobile Apps
August 26, 2009 (FinancialWire) — TIE Technologies, Inc. (OTC: TTCS) announced the acquisition of Mobile Apps, Inc. and MobileChat, the already successful iPhone application.
TIE acquired one hundred percent of the shares of Mobile Apps, Inc. in exchange for 199,000 shares of TIE Technologies, Inc. common shares. Mobile Apps, Inc. owns the MobileChat iPhone application and is an approved application provider for Apple iTunes and the iPhone and iPod touch devices.
This key acquisition springboards TIE into the exploding mobile applications marketplace. Apple has proven this to be a very attractive and saleable product line, in fact the best Apps can become folk phenomenon. The mobile app market is expected to grow to $25 billion per year within five years, according to Juniper research. Serving MobileChat provides TIE with an immediate revenue stream and the infrastructure to deliver and market not only the MobileChat application, but also the other mobile applications under development, including TIE’s Sleuth(tm), to this dynamic growing marketplace.
The next generation MobileChat version will soon be available and launched for all users. TIE plans to make MobileChat available on other mobile platforms and to introduce additional mobile applications. The line of Mobile Applications will be delivered through Whirlwind Hosting, a part of TIE’s Information Technology division.
