New York, NY--The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) http://www.ntsb.gov released documents on Monday regarding the federal agency's investigation into the fatal plane crash of Continental Connection Flight 3407, on February 12, 2009, near Buffalo in upstate New York. The recent NTSB report revealed Rebecca L. Shaw, the 24 year-old co-pilot, of Flight 3407, spent the entire night of February 11 traveling on two different cargo flights, seated in cockpit jump seats, from Seattle to Newark before starting her own flight duties at Newark Liberty International Airport on February 12. The voice box recorders of the cockpit conversation before take-off, between the pilot and co-pilot, revealed Shaw may have not been feeling well. The NTSB released a transcript of 62 minutes of pre-flight conversation with Shaw sneezing, clearing her throat, and telling Captain Renslow, the pilot, "O.K., I'm ready to be in the hotel room."

As reported by the New York Times, Flight 3407, operated by Colgan Air for Continental originated out of Newark en route to Buffalo, on February 12, when the airplane crashed into a residential neighborhood killing all 48 people on board including the passengers, pilots, crew and one man on the ground when the plane struck his home in Clarence Center.

New York aviation accident lawyer, J.C. Reiter, who has represented victims of airline disasters and families of those who have died in an aviation accident, says there are a number of factors that can cause a plane to crash. Pilot negligence or error, crewmember fatigue, airline negligence and error, and mechanical error are a few of the numerous causes of airplane crashes. When a plane crash occurs, it typically results in death or catastrophic injuries for everyone on the plane including the crew members.
