Officials in a Detroit City have agreed to share asbestos cleanup costs with the Board of Education. As reported by The News-Herald, the city offered to assist the district with certain projects in order to help it save money as well as get the work completed sooner. Gary Neblett with the Taylor School District is quoted as stating of the work scheduled, “If all goes as planned, we could see a park over there at the end of August.” Neblett is further quoted as stating of the savings for one of the projects, “The city is doing it for $9,000… It would have cost us $16,000 just to rent the equipment.
