Bialosky To Succeed Harvie As Goodyear General Counsel
July 30, 2009 (FinancialWire) — The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.s (NYSE: GT) board has named David L. Bialosky to succeed C. Thomas Harvie as the company’s general counsel. Harvie, who has been Goodyear’s general counsel for more than 14 years, plans to retire in October.
Bialosky currently serves as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of TRW Automotive Holdings. He has held that post since 2002, and before that held various other posts with TRW between 1989 and 2002.
Before TRW, Bialosky worked as an associate in the Cleveland office of Thompson Hine from 1985 to 1989. From 1980 to 1982, he worked for The Standard Oil Co. as a mechanical engineer.
Harvie joined Goodyear in July 1995 after serving as vice president and associate general counsel at TRW, where he worked from 1975 to 1995. He was named Goodyear’s vice president and general counsel in 1995 and was then elected senior vice president, general counsel and secretary in 1999.
Akron, Ohio-based Goodyear is a tire maker that employs nearly 70,000 people and manufactures its products in more than 60 facilities in 25 countries.
