Bemis Offers 7.5 Million Common Shares
July 21, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Bemis Co., Inc. (NYSE: BMS) is launching a public offering of 7.5 million shares of its common stock. BofA Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER), J.P. Morgan (NYSE: JPM) and Wells Fargo Securities (NYSE: will act as joint book-running managers.
The company will grant the underwriters an option for 30 days to purchase up to 1.125 million additional shares of common stock to cover over-allotments.
Bemis plans to use the net proceeds to fund a portion of the purchase price for its acquisition of Rio Tinto’s Alcan Packaging Food Americas unit.
