Lyons To Succeed Niro As CFO Of Provident Financial

Niro, who serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of the company its The Provident Bank subsidiary, will retire effective September 29. Thomas M. Lyons, first VP and chief accounting officer of The Provident Bank, has been appointed SVP and will assume the title of CFO of both the company and bank upon Niro’s retirement.

Niro has served as CFO of the company since its formation in 2003 in connection with the mutual-to-stock conversion of The Provident Bank, and as CFO of The Provident Bank since 2000.

Lyons, who is a CPA, joined the company and the bank in 2004 following the merger of First Sentinel Bancorp with and into Provident Financial. He was formerly EVP and CFO of First Sentinel.
