Herley Wins $2.8 Million Eurofighter Radar Contract
July 2, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Herley Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: HRLY) said that its New England division in Woburn, Massachusetts has been awarded a contract valued at around $2.8 million by an international customer to develop and produce an integrated microwave assembly to be used in the radar on the Eurofighter Typhoon.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a multi-role fighter used by Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its radar, called CAPTOR, is a multi-mode pulse-doppler radar that provides air-to-air and air-to-surface features.
Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based Herley Industries is engaged in the design, development and manufacture of microwave technology solutions for the defense, aerospace and medical industries worldwide.
Herley has seven manufacturing locations and around 1000 employees.
