Havenstein To Succeed Dahlberg As CEO Of SAIC
June 23, 2009 (FinancialWire) — SAIC, Inc. (NYSE: SAI) said that Ken Dahlberg, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, will step down as CEO on September 20 under the firm’s mandatory retirement guidelines. Walter P. Havenstein, the former president and CEO of BAE Systems Inc., will become SAIC’s CEO on September 21. He will also become a member of SAIC’s board.
Dahlberg will continue with the company as chairman through SAIC’s annual meeting of Stockholders in June 2010.
Havenstein most recently served as chief operating officer and member of the board for British defense contractor BAE Systems, plc. and president and chief executive officer of BAE Systems Inc., the company’s wholly owned U.S. subsidiary.
His previous positions at BAE include president of the firm’s electronics and integrated solutions operating group, and president of its information and electronic warfare systems unit. He was executive vice president, then president of Sanders, a Lockheed Martin company. Before joining Sanders in 1999, he held executive management and business development positions at Raytheon.
