China In-Focus: SEC Calls End To American Dairy Probe
June 23, 2009 (FinancialWire) — American Dairy, Inc. (NYSE: ADY), which makes infant formula and other products in China, id it has received a letter from the Securities and Exchange Commission stating that an SEC’s investigation into the company has been completed and that the SEC does not intend to recommend any enforcement action.
According to American Dairy, the letter concludes an informal inquiry by the SEC that began in 2007 and related to individuals and entities that had provided accounting or certain advisory services to the company.
Those individuals and entities included Murrell, Hall, McIntosh & Co. PLLP and Henny Wee & Co., which the company terminated in December 2007.
Beijing-based American Dairy is a producer and distributor of infant formula, milk powder, and soybean, rice walnut products in the People’s Republic of China.
The company conducts operations in China through its Feihe Dairy unit, which has processing and distribution facilities in Kedong, Qiqihaer, Baiquan, Gannan, Shanxi, and Langfang, China.
