June 15, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Lindsay Corp. (NYSE: LNN), a provider of irrigation systems and infrastructure products, said that Thomas D. Spears will join the company as president of its infrastructure business.

For the past 11 years, Spears was employed by Valmont Industries (NYSE: VMI), most recently as group president of its North American engineered structures and coatings business. Prior to joining Valmont he held various management positions at Emerson Electric (NYSE: ENR) and General Motors (NYSE: GM).

In the newly created role of president of the infrastructure business, Spears will be responsible for Lindsay’s Barrier Systems, Snoline, and diversified manufacturing businesses.

Lindsay also said that, effective June 12, Owen Denman, will step down as president and C.E.O. of BSI due to a health issue.

Omaha-based Lindsay manufactures and markets irrigation equipment primarily used in agricultural markets. The company also manufactures and markets infrastructure and road safety products through its Barrier Systems and Snoline units.
