May 14, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Scientific Games (NASDAQ: SGMS) has been selected as the primary vendor to supply instant tickets and related services for the Massachusetts state lottery.

The contract, which is scheduled to begin July 2009, has an initial term of three years with two one-year extension options. Scientific Games said it expects revenue from the contract, based on a price per thousand estimated, to be around $12 million per year.

In fiscal year 2008, the Massachusetts state lottery generated over $4.7 billion in retail sales.

New York-based Scientific Games is a supplier of instant tickets, systems and services to lotteries worldwide, a supplier of server based gaming machines and systems, amusement and skill with prize betting terminals, interactive sports betting terminals and systems, and wagering systems and services to pari-mutuel operators.

The company is also a licensed pari-mutuel gaming operator in Connecticut, Maine and the Netherlands and is a supplier of prepaid phone cards to telephone companies.
