Corning Prices $350 Million Of Senior Notes
May 8, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Corning Inc. (NYSE: GLW) has priced $250 million of senior unsecured notes at a coupon of 6.625%. The notes will mature on May 15, 2019. The company also priced $100 million of senior unsecured notes at a coupon of 7.000%, which will mature on May 15, 2024.
Deutsche Bank Securities (NYSE: DB) and J.P. Morgan Securities (NYSE: JPM) served as joint book-running managers and underwriters. The transactions are scheduled to close on May 12.
Corning said it would use the net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes.
Corning, New York-based Corning makes specialty glass and ceramics used for consumer electronics, mobile emissions control, telecommunications and life sciences.
The company’s products include glass substrates for LCD televisions, computer monitors and laptops, ceramic substrates and filters for mobile emission control systems. It also makes optical fiber, cable, hardware and equipment for telecommunications networks and other products.
