Computer Sciences Receives $347 Million Of Army Aircraft Maintenance Orders
May 6, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE: CSC) said that the U.S. Air Force has awarded the company eight task orders to provide aviation maintenance and repair services for U.S. Army assets. The task orders each have a one-year base period and a one-year option, and are collectively valued at $347 million.
Under the terms of the task orders, CSC will provide a range of aviation maintenance and repair services for rotary wing aircraft previously deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
CSC maintenance personnel will inspect, repair, overhaul and make modifications and technology upgrades to aircraft prior to their redeployment to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Falls Church, Virginia-based Computer Sciences’ capabilities include systems design and integration, information technology and business process outsourcing, applications software development, web and application hosting, mission support and management consulting.
The company has around 92,000 employees and reported revenue of $17.1 billion for the 12 months ended January 2, 2009.
