Sound Community Bank To Buy Branch

Sound Community Bank unit has agreed to acquire a branch of 1st Security Bank of Washington. The deal covers deposits, deposit-related loans and the branch facility itself, which is located in the Puget Sound area of Washington state.

The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval and is scheduled to close in the second quarter of 2009. The new branch is currently under construction, according to Sound Financial.

Seattle-based Sound Community Bank provides personal and business banking services in communities in the greater Puget Sound region. The company operates banking offices in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Clallam counties in Washington.
