Petco Petroleum Corp. violates Clean Water Act at Oklahoma oil field. Oklahoma, OK(JusticeNewsFlash.com)--The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) www.epa.gov issued a cease and desist administrative order to Petco Petroleum Corporation’s Creek County, Oklahoma oil field production facility. EPA federal investigators found the Hinsdale, Illinois based Petco Petroleum oil company to be releasing unauthorized discharges of oil field brine from the company’s facility to a tributary of the Cimarron River. The federal oil field inspection officers also discovered water at the discharge point of entry into the Cimarron River tributary was contaminated with brine discharges and salts. Petco Petroleum Corporation was ordered to cease all discharges from the facility, remove all brine contaminated soils from the flow path between the facility and the tributary. The EPA demands Petco oil company leaders provide written certification to the federal government all Clean Water Act violations have been stopped and the orders completed within 30 days.
