Science Applications Wins $48 Million Army Task Order
The single award task order has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total contract value of more than $48 million if all options are exercised.
SAID said that work under the award will be performed primarily in Alexandria, Virginia and Colorado Springs, Colorado. The task order was awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions - 2 Services contract.
According to the company, iPERMS is designed to enhance the Army's ability to store and access hundreds of millions of document images, replacing a labor intensive records management system based on paper documents and updateable microfiche.
The system is used to maintain, retrieve, and transfer military personnel files, and provides on-line access and display of document images in a web-based environment.
Under the task order, SAIC will provide services including program management, customer support, enterprise architecture and planning, information assurance and system integration.
San Diego-based SAIC is a scientific, engineering, and technology applications company whose roughly 45,000 employees serve customers in the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, other U.S. Government civil agencies and various commercial markets.
SAIC posted annual revenues of $8.9 billion for its fiscal year ended January 31, 2008.
