SRA Unit Wins Namibia Project

February 18, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- SRA International, Inc.'s (NYSE: SRX) said that its Era Systems Corp. subsidiary has been selected to supply a national wide area multilateration system for Namibia.

The system, which will be delivered to the Namibian civil aviation authority, will cover more than 825,000 square kilometers and will be a significant component of an overall air traffic management system upgrade to be managed by Thales ATM, the prime on the contract.

According to SRA, Era's MSS ADS-B and multilateration system will be used to provide complete nationwide coverage for Namibia as it prepares for a significant increase in air traffic, associated with the 2010 FIFA World Cup taking place in neighboring South Africa.

The Era solution consists of a network of ground stations designed to provide higher accuracy, greater update rates, better coverage and improved reliability when compared to traditional radar, with much lower initial and maintenance costs. Data from the Era surveillance will be fused with primary and secondary radar data and integrated into a new Eurocat-X ATM system.

SRA acquired Era Systems last July. The company provides surveillance technologies for the air traffic management, airport operations, military and security markets.

Fairfax, Virginia-based SRA and its subsidiaries serve the national security, civil government and global health markets. The company and its subsidiaries are focused in such areas as air surveillance and air traffic management, contract research organization services, cybersecurity, disaster response planning, enterprise resource planning, environmental strategies, IT systems, infrastructure and managed services, logistics, public health preparedness, strategic management consulting, systems engineering and wireless integration.
