February 12, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (NASDAQ: AMCC) (Current Market Cap: US$267.73 Mil.) said that it will implement compensation reductions and a reduction in its worldwide workforce which impacts slightly over 100 people.

The moves are expected to reduce annual operating expenses by an estimated $14 million to $16 million for AMCC's Fiscal Year 2010, according to the company.
