March 19, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- Jon Mandrell has been promoted to vice president and appointed a seat on the board of directors of CoroWare, Inc. (OTCBB: CROE).

The CoroWare board of directors also made official the chief executive officer position of Lloyd Spencer who has served as interim CEO since January of 2008.

Mandrell still serves as director of Robotics and Automation for CoroWare Technologies, a CoroWare, Inc. subsidiary. He oversaw the release of the CoroBot and ClassPack product lines and established long-term professional services engagements with tier 1 customers.

Before coming to CoroWare, Mandrell was senior firmware architect for Vixel and Emulex Corp., a producer of Fibre-Channel switches and hubs, where he was responsible for specifying processes and tools to be used on development projects, as well as managing requirements and high-level software architecture issues for products. He also worked as project engineer and team lead at Medtronic Physio-Control Corp., as a consultant for Cyber Safe Corp., and as a software engineer for Performance Dynamics, Applied Microsystems Corp., and Peripheral Technology Inc., respectively.

Spencer, who founded CoroWare Technologies in 2003, was named interim chief executive officer on January 28, 2009 following the death of former CEO, Gene Gartlan.
