ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- December 2, 2008 -- Storm Damage, a new book by retired technology expert Sandy Mason, is a novel about a man’s attempt at starting a new life at a marina in Florida and uncovering the truth to the mysterious death of his best friend’s wife during Hurricane Charley.
According to Mason, sometimes it is difficult to get to the real truth of a matter, especially when there is a strong emotional involvement with the situation. Mason tells the story of Johnny Donohue, who leaves New York City after a failed career and divorce to start a fresh life on the west coast of Florida. As Johnny helps his best friend come to terms with the death of his wife during Hurricane Charley in 2004, he realizes that all of the facts do not add up to the exact cause of her death.
“Hurricanes are a part of life in Florida, and there are always stories that follow in the storms’ wake,” says Mason, whose novel is loosely based on the story of the death of a close friend’s wife due to a terrible accident caused by Hurricane Charley.
