West Virginia Joins the National Donations Management Network, powered by Aidmatrix
DALLAS, TX -- January 29, 2009 -- The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. today announced its partnership with the State of West Virginia for the National Donations Management Network, powered by Aidmatrix. The National Donations Management Network is a national disaster relief coordination system funded by FEMA, the UPS Foundation, Accenture, and the Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc., to better manage unsolicited donations and volunteers. It connects State and local governments with donors, State Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOADs), National VOAD, and FEMA, through web-based tools that reduce paperwork for processing donations and allow for easy information sharing.
Jimmy Gianato, Director of the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, states his enthusiasm for the program: “We believe Aidmatrix will help us respond more effectively to the needs of West Virginians during future disasters, and will enable our citizens to more effectively assist those who suffer from the effects of future disasters in other states. Although we do not look forward to the next disaster in West Virginia, we do look forward to using this resource when the next disaster does occur so the recovery of our people can occur more rapidly and completely than in the past.”
This web-based system will help the State of West Virginia manage the public response of spontaneous giving that comes during a disaster. The information will be collected electronically which, in turn, allows the State to easily communicate with its VOAD members. The end result is that more quality donations can be processed and delivered to disaster victims more efficiently.
The Aidmatrix Network® now covers more than 72% of the US population, with 34 US states and territories included. Its members are helping revolutionize the way in which humanitarian relief is processed. It is streamlining relief efforts with technology and partnerships just like the supply chains used within the for-profit world.
