According to Asbestos.com, several actions groups are working hard to ensure that a compensation fund is granted to victims of asbestos exposure, including working toward a central compensation fund. The British Lung Foundation recently coordinated Action Mesothelioma Day in an effort to increase awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure and mesothelioma. Many cases result from exposure to toxic asbestos while on the job. The proposed Employer’s Liability fund would work as the British Motor Insurers’ Bureau does, which provides aid to victims involved in accidents with drivers who are not insured. Derek Simpson, Unite Joint General Secretary, said in a statement, “We will continue to fight for those who have been affected to ensure they receive adequate compensation.
