Jefferies to Host 4th Global Clean Technology Conference in London on 18 October

LONDON & NEW YORK--On October 18, 2007, Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), will host its 4th Global Clean Technology Conference in London.

The conference will feature presentations from more than 30 leading European, Asian and US companies across the clean technology and alternative energy industry. The conference will address today's critical energy supply, security issues and environmental concerns with a range of technologies including biofuels, energy demand management, fuel cells, geothermal power, hybrid vehicles, hydrogen generation, solar power and wind power. Companies in attendance will include BP p.l.c., ersol Solar Energy AG, Renewable Energy Corporation ASA, and THEOLIA. The conference keynote speech will be given by Jim Lyons, Chief Engineer of General Electric Company and founder of GE's wind energy division.

The conference comes on the heels of strong performance of the clean technology sector, as captured by The Jefferies Clean Energy Composite Index which increased by over 50% YTD. This index, which is a composite index of nearly 60 leading small- and mid-cap companies engaged in the sector worldwide, was launched in 2006 as part of Jefferies' its firm-wide commitment to the global clean technology sector.
