RF3D WifiPlanner a Comprehensive 3 Dimensional Software Design Package for Planning WiFi Networks
San Diego, CA August 24, 2007 - Psiber Data Systems Inc. today announced the launch of a cost effective, three dimensional WiFi planning software tool, allowing network designers to accurately lay out and optimize network coverage in even the most complex building environments with multi-level floor plans. RF3D WifiPlanner features a true 3-dimensional computation of the wireless network coverage in buildings. This important capability provides more accurate network performance predictions because it includes the coverage and interferences from access points on other floors. RF3D WifiPlanner is based on a fast 3D computation engine which allows interactive placement and optimization of access points. RF3D WifiPlanner is priced so that saving the need to install even one access point pays for the cost of the product.
Darrell Johnson, President of Psiber Data Systems Inc. remarked: "The number of wireless networks continues to increase dramatically. Planning robust, highly available networks - especially in multi-story buildings - is extremely difficult. RF3D WifiPlanner will benefit anyone designing a wireless network by identifying the best location, configuration and quantity of access points to provide the network performance that users expect."
RF3D WifiPlanner supports all IEEE 802.11 a/b/g networks and is independent of equipment manufacturers. The design of a wireless network is performed in three steps: Import the floor plans of single or multi level buildings in JPG, PNG and BMP formats, rotate and scale the plans so that all floors line up properly. Then use the built-in libraries or custom design walls and floors to precisely match the buiding's RF characteristics. Finally place access points including antenna types from a predefined open library, which can also be supplemented by the user. The 3D computation engine immediately visualizes the resulting field strength, allowing the interactive optimization of quantity, location and configuration of individual access points before installing a single one.
In addition to field strength, RF3D WifiPlanner provides visualization of interferences, signal to noise ratios, data rates and even failure simulations. The reliability mode shows the remaining coverage in case the strongest or second strongest access points fail at a particular location. An important feature for identifying back-up requirements in critical coverage areas. These screens present a meaningful visualization and documentation of the planned WiFi network which - printed as a report - serves as a basis for quotations from service providers as well as a work instruction for installers.
Psiber Data's RF3D WifiPlanner is a cost effective 3 dimensional WiFi simulation and modelling tool, which provides manufacturer independent planning of wireless networks in multi-story buildings, suitable for the WiFi novice as well as for the skilled designer and service provider. The software is available in two versions at a recommended retail price of $395 for the RF3D WifiPlanner Lite, for projects with up to 10 access points and 5 floors, and $795 for the standard edition of RF3D WifiPlanner with an unlimited number of access points and floors.
The Company:
Psiber Data Systems Inc., located in San Diego, California, USA, with affiliated companies in Germany, Italy and UK, is a privately held corporation, committed to the development, manufacture and marketing of electronic test instruments for the data communications market. Psiber was founded in 1994 and products include the LanMaster(R) Link Testers, Pinger(R) IP Tester and Cable Tracker(R) Network ID Kit, which have established a new class of computer Local Area Network (LAN) performance, test and diagnostic tools.
