Mouton Cadet Named Official Wine Sponsor of Tribeca Film Festival

NEW YORK--Mouton Cadet, the world's leading Bordeaux AOC wine, has been named the official wine sponsor of the Tribeca Film Festival. Taking place April 25 through May 6 in Lower Manhattan, the Tribeca Film Festival has quickly become the fastest growing film festival in North America, featuring over 250 films from more than 40 countries and attracting nearly half a million attendees in 2006.

"We are very pleased to support the Tribeca Film Festival," said Bethany DiSanto, Director of Marketing for North Lake Wines, the U.S. importer of Mouton Cadet. "The festival is a grand exploration of global cinema, and a natural partnership with Mouton Cadet, given our continued support for the arts around the world. In addition to Tribeca, Mouton Cadet has sponsored the internationally renowned Cannes Film Festival, as well as the Chicago International Film Festival. Tribeca is the latest expression of Mouton Cadet's commitment to the cinematic arts and the international film community."

As the official wine sponsor for the Tribeca Film Festival, Mouton Cadet 2004 Rouge and Mouton Cadet 2005 Blanc will be poured at all Tribeca Film Festival events. These include scheduled luncheons, parties, cocktail receptions, and awards dinners. In all, Mouton Cadet will be served at 75 different venues throughout Lower Manhattan. In addition, the wine will be available in local wine shops and restaurants for purchase.

"The Tribeca Film Festival shares Mouton Cadet's commitment to supporting arts around the world," said Craig Hatkoff, co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival. "We look forward to integrating Mouton Cadet at many of our Festival events and appreciate their generous support."

Founded in 1930 by the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Mouton Cadet is essentially the world's first wine "brand." Rothschild's goal was to market high-quality wine made from declassified (those not used by his Chateau) grapes, to a world of burgeoning quality-conscious, wine consumers. Mouton Cadet found instant success and support from Parisian restaurateurs and consumers alike. For more than 75 years, the brand has grown in popularity and now produces millions of bottles each year.

About the Tribeca Film Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff after the attacks on the World Trade Center to help economically and culturally revitalize Lower Manhattan through an annual celebration of film, music, and culture. The Festival's mission is to assist filmmakers to reach the broadest possible audience, enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film, and to promote New York City as a major filmmaking center. In its first five years, the festival attracted over one and a half million attendees from the US and abroad and created more than $325 million in economic activity for New York City. The sixth annual Tribeca Film Festival will run from April 25th to May 6th, 2007. The Festival is anchored in Tribeca with additional venues throughout Manhattan, and includes film screenings, special events, concerts, a family street fair, and Tribeca Talks panel discussions.
