China Expert Matthew Growney Joins DarwinSuzsoft as First Chief of Strategy

WAKEFIELD, Massachusetts -- DarwinSuzsoft, one of the fastest-growing American IT and communications development firms, appointed Matthew Growney as its first chief strategy officer to further expand its already-deep presence in China.

Growney built much of his career driving fast-track ventures in emerging countries. He co-founded and was managing director of Motorola Ventures, where he led more than $350 million in investments in 75 companies across five continents. He established Motorola's investment practice in China in 2002, and served on the board and investment committee of Shanghai NewMargin Ventures, one of China's premier venture capital management funds.

Growney joins the company at a pivotal moment: Western demand for sustainable offshore IT development continues to explode, and DarwinSuzsoft has established deep domain expertise in a range of IT services, and a track record of delivering valuable cost savings.

"Matthew was one of the first tech visionaries advocating the immense potential of China, and helped U.S. companies realize enormous business gains," said Dan Ross, CEO of DarwinSuzsoft. "His relationships and experience are the best in the business - and will ensure that our clients achieve the maximum advantage that China offers."

DarwinSuzsoft serves more than 300 of the world's top financial institutions, software firms, healthcare companies, communications firms and insurance providers. Its U.S. and China operations and strong global project management gives companies an irresistible advantage: 30-to-50 percent savings over India on commercial software development and IT projects, and the productivity and security of working with local resources to communicate requirements and manage deliverables from across the globe.

Clients gain local accountability, strong controls for intellectual property protection, with across-the-board processes, systems and protocols to ensure strong savings on commercial software development and IT projects.

Growney, 34, will report directly to Ross. Growney serves on the boards of advisors for Sigma Capital Partners, Synchrony Venture Management, and the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship in New England. He is also a member of the board of directors of Todobebe, a media company serving Spanish-speaking infants and new parents. In 2005, he was named one of Boston's "40 under 40" by the Boston Business Journal.
