Intertek Acquires Technical Services and Consulting Companies CAPCIS and SREL
HOUSTON & LONDON -- Intertek Group plc (Intertek), a leading international provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries, announces that its Oil, Chemical and Agri division (Caleb Brett) has acquired Umitek Ltd, a holding company, and its wholly owned operating subsidiaries CAPCIS Ltd and Smith Rea Energy Limited (SREL).
CAPCIS is Europe's leading Independent Materials Consultancy and Specialist Testing Group providing a fully integrated range of services across highly regulated and capital intensive industries. CAPCIS has developed an enviable reputation over 30 years for its fundamental understanding, specialist expertise and advanced materials testing capabilities. This includes specialist consultancy for testing, selection and monitoring of advanced materials and components, development and evaluation of chemicals for upstream oil and gas production, infrastructure reliability and asset life protection, expert witness and litigation support.
SREL is the market leading provider of specialist hydrocarbon allocation and production reporting consultancy services to international oil & gas production companies. SREL assists clients to develop unique fiscal accounting models and associated commercial agreements for complex production and allocation systems. Services include the development and auditing of commercial and contractual agreements, the development and implementation of comprehensive allocation computer systems, the provision of specialist allocation and metering consultancy services and a fully outsourced operational management service.
