HF 753 – Causing death while speeding in excess of 25 MPH

HF 753 relates to a person who, while speeding, causes an accident that results in the death of another. If a person exceeds the posted speed limit by 25 miles per hour or greater and the person’s speeding causes the death of another person, it will be considered “Homicide or Serious Injury by Vehicle.” This is a class “C” felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine.
