Luanda, ANGOLA, May 30 - Council of Ministers of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) analysed Friday the degree of compliance with decisions on covid-19 and the impact of the pandemic on execution of programmes in sub-region. ,

This was during a three-day meeting held via videoconference, in which Angola was represented by a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.

The participants discussed the socio-economic impact of the pandemic and its implications for the SADC region and the organisation's financial situation.

In a press release reached ANGOP, on the session directed from Dar-es Salaam (Tanzania), Angola’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) stressed the degree of compliance with the decisions from the previous Council of Ministers and the disaster risk management.  

According to the document, the State members focused on the level of implementation of the motto of the 39th SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government, the assessment on the state of SADC intraregional trade and industrialisation.

The Angolan delegation was integrated by ministers of Transport Ricardo D'Abreu, Industry and Commerce Victor Fernandes, and Health, Sílvia Lutucuta.

Also joined the Angolan delegation the Secretaries of State for Foreign Affairs Esmeralda Mendonça, and Budget Aia-Eza da Silva.

SADC comprises Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Comoros, Eswatini (former Swaziland), Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe .
