W.Va. State Fire Marshal investigators arrest Marion woman on arson charges
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office announced today that a Marion County woman has been arrested on arson charges for a fire that occurred on June 26.
WVSFMO investigators have charged Janet Marie Washington, 59, of Fairmont, with first-degree arson. Washington is alleged to have set fire to her neighbor’s door after an ongoing dispute at their Rhea Terrace apartment.
Washington was arraigned in Marion County Magistrate Court and is currently at the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.
The arrest was made by WVSFMO investigator R.C. Ayersman and the Fairmont Police Department.
