W.Va. State Fire Marshals arrest a Jefferson County man for a July fire
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office has charged a man in connection with a July fire at a Charles Town home.
WVSFMO investigators have charged Drew Springirth, 39, with one count of first-degree arson. Springirth is alleged to have set fire to the basement of a home in Charles Town on July 28.
The fire was first reported by neighbors, due to the rapid response of the fire department, the fire was contained to a section of the basement. Springirth was arrested on August 10 and arraigned in Jefferson County Magistrate Court. He remains in Eastern Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.
The arrest was made by WVSFMO investigator G.A. Harms and the Jefferson Sheriff’s Department.
